Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that we are mid-way through the school year! Our students have returned from Winter break rejuvenated and ready to tackle the remainder of the school year. Their confidence is at an all time high right now as they are feeling comfortable in their classroom environments and their social skills are improving every day. Friendships are growing as our communication grows stronger. Our students have embraced their learning environments and find comfort in the Montessori materials and the opportunities the classroom affords.
Handwriting is always a focus in the Montessori classroom as our students learn to master formation of letters and numbers through a variety of manipulatives and hand’s on activities. Strengthening those muscles necessary for writing is the key to good penmanship later on. Our students use practical life activities to develop the small motor coordination writing requires. Practical life activities are not only a preparation for writing, but they also reinforce every day life skills including preparing one’s own snack, dressing oneself, and caring for self and the environment all while developing dexterity! We love practical life activities!
Each day at Children’s House brings new ideas, new lessons and exposure to new concepts! Our students are engaged and excited about learning and we love their enthusiasm. If you would like to share this excitement and love of learning with your child, contact us at 609-443-8900 to schedule a tour and to learn more about the programs we have to offer. We are also hosting an Open House for prospective families on Saturday, January 20 from 10 am to 1 pm. Call us to RSVP!
We look forward to welcoming your family into ours!
