“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go.”
I just can’t believe that the school year has come to an end. It has been a whirlwind of a school year and now it’s coming to an end. I think back to all of the wonderful moments and amazing learning experiences our students have had the opportunity to explore and I am in awe of their growth and development. In addition to their academic opportunities, our students have gained confidence and independence which they will take into their future.
The beauty of the Montessori classroom is that the student learns complex concepts using hands on materials. These materials reinforce lessons and concrete to abstract learning. The Montessori classroom is truly organic in its presentation and watching the children at work is fascinating.
When I think back to the beginning of the school year, I think of how shy some of our students were and now I see vibrant and joyful learners. I remember children who were a little unsure of their surroundings and their place in the classroom and now I see children who are secure and confident; children who are willing to help others and rise to the challenges given to them; and children who have learned the fine art of communicating and socializing in a positive and healthy manner. What a remarkable school year.
I look forward to the future…to our kindergarten graduation ceremony on June 14; to our summer camp filled with happy campers and to the new 2016-2017 school year where we will continue to learn, grow and share.
Summer camp opens on June 20. If you have not already signed up and would like to, refer to our website for more information or call the school and we would be happy to send you more information.
