“The essence of love is kindness.” ~Unknown
As we march into March we begin focusing on the homestretch of the school year. It feels like it was only yesterday that we were sending out our welcome back letters and now we are getting ready for Open Enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year.
Our students are so focused and their work is awe inspiring. From the beauty and detail of the maps to the precision and control of punching work, the Montessori classroom has something to offer every student. To watch our students grow and develop into mature and respectful citizens who are capable of completing the work cycle, but who are also helpful and responsible individuals is the icing on the cake for me.
The weather has been a little on the unpredictable side and the teachers are using it to their advantage. Weather discussions, experiments and lessons have been at the forefront of circle time meetings. Trying to predict the weather for the next day has almost become a game in some classrooms. One day it’s cold and rainy, the next it’s warm and sunny and then it’s snowing! I will say that our students are getting a workout from trying to figure out how dress for school!
March always brings our STEAM fair. STEAM is short for science, technology, engineering, art and math. Each year our sister school, Montessori Country Day hosts their annual Elementary STEAM fair and they invite our kindergartners to participate by displaying an experiment or activity that tests the scientific theory. We look forward to their wonderful contributions on March 10.
Dental Awareness month brought the dentist to school! Dr. Celest Vives, DDS visited our Children’s House campus and Dr. Rane, DDS visited our Montessori Corner campus to share the importance of good dental hygiene. The students loved having these visitors and we appreciate their time and willingness to share. Thank you!
We will be opening registration for the 16-17 school year and we want your family to join our family. Be on the look-out for my email announcements indicating when you can call to schedule your enrollment for next year! Remember, EVERY family MUST re-enroll each year. Without completing the re-enrollment process, your child’s space will not be secure so don’t forget to call to schedule! Spaces are filled on first come, first serve basis.
We look forward to another strong and engaging month and are so happy you are here to share it with us. Wishing you all a March filled with moments that touch your heart, friendships that fill your soul and happiness that fills your life.
