A Message From the Principal:

Montessori Country Day School is encouraged by the Character Counts program from Josephson Institute. It is an inclusive program that focuses on “what to do” instead of “what not to do.” There are 6 pillars of character that reflect key characteristic for being a good citizen. In the months of April and May we will reflect more deliberately on these characteristics.

They are: Trustworthiness Respect Responsibility Fairness Caring Citizenship Students are taught to be a person of great character is Terrific. (TRRFCC) Children learn to be good citizens as they work and play together in an environment that supports their emotional and social development. We know that it takes time and patience as children grow out of being egocentric and into socially aware members of their community. Our expectation is that all children participate in developing these character traits at their pace within MCDS’s supportive school environment.
